I am currently a professor at
Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ, and the Chair of the
Psychology Department. I also serve as the
Director of Faculty Research and Sponsored Programs. I received my Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 1993. I am interested in how vision affects self-motion perception and motion
sickness, especially given that a person does not have to physically move in order for these to occur. An optical array that
moves, like those found in many simulators and virtual environments, can also lead to motion sickness symptoms even if the
observer is totally stationary. Millions of people are affected by motion sickness each year, and yet no consensus exists
regarding the mechanisms responsible for motion sickness onset.
